Micronization and coating of bioflavonoids extracted from Citrus sinensis L. peels to preparation of sustained release pellets using supercritical technique

Bioflavonoids such as hesperidin and hesperetin anticancer antioxidant agents are widely used in the formulation of many herbal drugs. Recently, promising evidence for prevention treatment COVID 19 using these compounds has been reported. Unfortunately, often insoluble aqueous media have low stability gastric acid environment. These factors reduced bioavailability related oral dosage forms digestive system. Reduction particle size controlled release delivery system can decline mentioned problems. In presented research, extraction bioflavonoids from Citrus sinensis L. (sweet orange) peels was performed supercritical carbon dioxide. Experimental central composite design employed determination optimal conditions. Qualification analysis LC–MS, were identified extract. Micronization coating flavonoids nanoparticles on sugar spheres an inhouse developed technique. Characterization coated done FESEM ImageJ software. The vitro activity samples investigated by ferrous ion chelating activity. According to results, concentration ethanol organic co-solvent greatest effect yield. Analysis images illustrated that extract components with distribution 5–100 nm successfully. solubility increased significantly compared original form. This process led increasing dissolution rate improving flavonoids.
